When I applied for the job of police officer, I expected to have a long time to prepare myself physically for the role. However, I got a response and was told I had to pass a fitness test within a few weeks. Having been going to the gym completing a small programme offered by one of the instructors there I had a basic level of fitness but not great and no where near the level required. I knew I had to get fit quickly so I contacted Bill. On my first session Bill did a fitness test with me, checking my Body fat, lean weight, metabolism and talking over what I eat and what I should be eating. We then went for 1 1/2 mile run which he timed. Throughout this, although I felt I was struggling Bill kept talking to me encouraging me, telling me I could do it. At the end of the run I had managed to complete it in a few seconds under the time required for my fitness test so we both knew I had to improve this. Bill drew me up a programme of interval training for doing both on the treadmill and outdoors. Bill also gave me good advice on what to eat and drink which I followed riligiously. On the day of the test I was nervous, I tried to remember what Bill had told me. Tips for when I was running, including my breathing and all the positive things he said to encourage me. When I finished my run I was delighted, I had improved my time by almost 3 minutes in such a short period of time

Unfortunately for me, I had been so busy worrying about the running I had not bothered about the upper body strength test. This I failed by a couple of kilos! Having been so impressed by Bill's help with my running I went back to him to help me with my weight training. Bill talked through what I had been doing previously, and conducted a strength test. He then drew me up a programme to help me increase my upper body strength quickly. He gave me two programmes to do with a rest day in between. Bill also gave me more advice on food and got me a protein and carboydrate drink to take as well. I completed the programme over the next 8 weeks until my fitness test. This time around I was pushing/pulling almost 10 kilos more than I had been. I was delighted. Within the first month of following Bill's programme I noticed a great change in my energy levels and my body shape becoming more toned and defined. Not only had Bill helped me increase my fitness and strength levels so quickly, he had given me the support, encouragement and advice I needed throughout to help me believe in myself and achieve my goals. His knowledge, experience and genuine enthusiasm has helped me to be in my dream job!

I had been training in the gym, working on a programme by the in-house instructors, for over a year without noticing much of a difference in my body size or strength. I visited Bill who after giving me a full physical assesment reworked my programme as well as my diet. Bill was able to work out how much protein, carbohydrate etc that I should consume to assist me with my ultimate goal. In the time I have been working with him I have seen changes in my shape as well as feeling stronger and fitter. It is easy to work with Bill as he is easy going and extrememly knoweldgable
